Killer 1: The tension is incorrect
Too loose > skipping teeth, slight slippage > fatigue spalling and fracture of the tooth root
Too tight > Excessive tensile stress > Tensile layer fracture
broken
Many people put on the straps "by feel", but the result is that they are either loose or not
tight

Measure with a tensiometer and adjust according to the manufacturer's recommended value
Killer 2: The pulley does not match
Mixed and matched brands are the hardest-hit area!
Bando pulley +Gates belt, seemingly with a single pitch
sample
There are slight differences in the tooth profile, resulting in a decrease in meshing accuracy > local stress concentration > root fracture
There is also the loss of the tip of the pulley due to wear. Normal meshing turns into "hard gnaw", with one tooth under greater force breaking first, and then the entire chain is scrapped in a domino effect
Synchronous belts and pulleys are used in conjunction. For the same brand, regularly inspect the tooth profile of the pulleys and promptly address severe wear
in
Killer 3: Poor installation alignment
The axes of the two pulleys are not parallel and the pulleys are not on the same level
surface
*> The belt deviates and rubs against the flange > The side is roughened
It was severely cut by the flange directly!
Uneven force distribution causes a row of teeth to fall out in just a few days
After installation, the parallelism was checked with a laser alignment instrument
Killer 4: Environmental factors
These invisible "chronic poisons ":
High temperature >80°C > Material ages and hardens
Brittle fracture
** Oil stains/chemicals **> Seep into the tooth roots > Corrode the tensile fiber layer
** Dust/metal shavings **> Micro-cutting > Slow tooth section
Grind it off slowly
For high temperatures, choose high-temperature resistant materials
In oily environments, add protective covers or choose oil-resistant polyurethane
Regularly clean the transmission area
Killer 5: Improper selection
The most easily "wronged" killer!
Just check if the model is correct and do not calculate the load. To save costs, choose a bandwidth that is too narrow > and directly break it
For low speed and high torque, arc teeth were selected
Trapezoidal teeth are selected for high-speed and precise transmission
The pulley diameter is too small > the bending stress is too large
If you are born with deficiencies, even the best straps will be of no use! **
