How to choose synchronous belts.
1. Determine the transmission parameters
Power and Torque: Calculate the load-carrying capacity of the required synchronous belt based on the motor power and load torque to avoid overload.
Rotational speed: For high-speed applications, a belt type with high strength and low inertia (such as polyurethane material) should be selected.
The transmission ratio is determined by the ratio of the number of teeth of the driving pulley to that of the driven pulley, which affects the selection of the length and number of teeth of the synchronous belt.
2. Select the type of synchronous belt
Common types
Trapezoidal teeth (such as MXL, XL, L, H, etc.) : Suitable for low speed and light load (such as printers, small machinery).
Arc teeth (such as HTD, STS, RPP, etc.) : They have strong shear resistance and are suitable for medium and high-speed, heavy-load applications (such as machine tools, industrial robots).
Special tooth profiles (such as AT, T series) : High-precision transmission (such as medical equipment).

3. Match the pulley with the tooth profile
Pitch: It must be exactly the same as the pitch of the pulley (for example, HTD-5M indicates a pitch of 5mm).
Bandwidth: The greater the load, the wider the bandwidth required (for example, a 20mm width has a higher carrying capacity than a 10mm width).
